This rug is a unique piece of world art that will enhance your living space. Tribal bokhara rugs are made by village weavers in Karachi and Lahore, Pakistan, led by Mr. Haseep and his family. They spend years weaving each intricate detail into these rugs. The original design of the rug originated in Turkmenistan. They are made on portable wooden looms. They obtain their dyes naturally from local vegetables, flowers, tree bark, minerals, and insects. Graphs, or blueprints for the patterns, are used more often today but true masters create signature designs and color combinations showing their skill. The knot count per square inch for this rug is 200. The pile height is 0.25 inches. This rug is made of 100-percent wool. The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected.
